The Camden Conference and the library host Professor Kristin Vekasi, who will discuss supply chains for critical minerals that are essential for the gadgets that make modern life possible and for the technologies central to the transition away from fossil fuels. – The Politics of Critical Mineral Supply Chains in the Indo-Pacific, 6:30 p.m. The program will be presented in person at the library and livestreamed on the library’s Facebook page. The narrated slideshow will relate details about Swedish-American Anders Anderson, whose sailing career spanned nearly half a century during the Age of Sail. This is a community event, open to the public, and community organizations are invited to attend and perhaps say a few words. A plaque will be placed on Cochran’s gravestone as part of a movement sponsored by the Boston Tea Party Ships and Museum, a group dedicated to recognizing all members of the December 16, 1773, protest by the time of its 250th anniversary next year. The Belfast Cemetery Trustees, Belfast Cemetery Department, and Belfast Historical Society host the ceremony to honor John Cochran, a Belfast resident who participated in the Boston Tea Party. – Boston Tea Party Participant Recognition Ceremony, 3:30 p.m.
